Every Dollar Saves a Life (EDSL) is a nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children in Uvira, Democratic Republic of Congo. We focus on children affected by war, poverty, and displacement by providing access to education, nutrition, safe shelter, and proper clothing.
Our organization was founded on a simple belief: one dollar, one child, one life can make a difference.
Through community partnerships and local leadership in Uvira, we work to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity to children who need it most. We serve children directly while strengthening families and communities so lasting change can happen.

Support Youth Agriculture Training - Goal: $10,000
Youth Agriculture & Food Security Program Agriculture and Life-Skills Training: Teaching children age-appropriate gardening, planting, harvesting, and food-production skills to help strengthen their future and improve food security. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to teach orphaned and vulnerable children practical agriculture skills. Donations will support training, seeds, farming tools, land preparation, trainers, protective equipment, transportation and other expenses. Many orphaned and vulnerable children in Uvira want something simple: the opportunity to attend school, learn, and build a better future.
Every Dollar Saves a Life is currently supporting children who have lost one or both parents. Thirty fully orphaned children are our immediate priority, while approximately 70 more children remain on our waiting list.
Just $65 can provide one child with a school uniform and tuition support for an entire school year.

Infant Formula and Food
Infants and Toddlers are experiencing mal-nutrition due to the lack of access to food from their mothers and some of them are orphans.
Safe Place to Sleep
Most Kids in Kahorohoro Village are in extreme need of a safe environment to sleep. A blanket, a mattress and a net to protect them from mosquitoes 🦟 is needed.
Clothing & Hygiene Program - Clean Clothes, Clean Hands
We provide clothing, shoes and hygiene kits so children can live with dignity and confidence.
